Weekend Calendar
Saturday: The service begins promptly at 10 a.m., with a kiddush lunch following. Afterward, we’re hosting everyone at our home. Also, there’s a swimming pool at the hotel, so if you’re coming with kids, it’s a great opportunity to burn off energy. We’re also within walking distance of the renowned Des Moines Art Center and kid-oriented Science Center, and it’s a short drive to the city’s attractions, including the state capitol, Living History Farms, and top-quality shopping.
The reception begins with appetizers and hors d’oeuvres at xxxx. A short havdalah service starts at xx, followed by dinner, and dancing afterward.
Sunday: In a marvelous sense of timing, Sunday is Mother’s Day. So we will be hosting a Mother’s Day brunch at our home the following morning, beginning at xxx.
If you're looking for high-powered soccer action, look no further than Josh and Julia, who play on a U-14 rec team (Ira is an assistant coach). We have a game scheduled Sunday; you're welcome to come and see the only athletes in our family (besides the dogs). Josh plays goalkeeper; Julia is a standout defender and midfielder.
